Job Title: PR/Communications Intern

Organization: Rush Union

Location: Dunwoody, Georgia and Milton, Georgia (Remote work possible)

Type: Semester-based College Internship for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters (Unpaid, for course credit); both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply

Rush Union Soccer was formed when the Georgia Rush branch of Rush National combined with Chiefs Futbol Club. Rush Union provides all levels of play for boys and girls 4U-19U in Georgia, including rec, academy, select and elite options. Rush Union is a US Club SCCL member, SCCL Premier member, USYS NL and GA Soccer member.

Position Overview:

Rush Union is seeking a motivated and dedicated PR/Communications Intern to assist with the development and execution of a public relations plan. This internship is designed for undergraduate or graduate students seeking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the fields of public relations and communications while contributing to a community-focused, non-profit sports organization. While this position is unpaid, the intern will have the opportunity to earn course credit as required by their academic institution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of a PR plan to help the organization meet its goals related to the communities around Dunwoody and Milton, Ga.
  • Collaborate with the Rush Union team to support email marketing campaigns.
  • Manage/create content for the organization's paid and organic social media channels.
  • Generate content for email newsletters and website updates.
  • Conduct outreach to new and current families interested in recreational and youth soccer programs.
  • Help monitor the effectiveness of PR efforts and campaigns.

 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their management.
  • Creativity and the ability to think strategically about PR and communications initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for youth and recreational soccer programs.
  • Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have familiarity with either the Dunwoody or Milton, Ga. communities

 

Duration:

This is a semester-based internship with a flexible start and end date, based on the academic calendar. The intern will be expected to commit a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during the fall/spring semester and 15-20 hours per week during the summer.
 

Pay/Course Credit:

The internship is unpaid but structured to meet course credit requirements as needed for the student's academic program.
