Rush Union Junior Referee Program
FREE AND OPEN TO ALL 2012, 2013, 2014 PLAYERS!

Rush Union is excited to offer our Junior Referee Program to players born in 2012, 2013 or 2014

The purpose of this course is an introduction to refereeing.  The instructor will go over the basics and prepare players for refereeing our young recreational level games.

There is no fee to participate. We have already had success in our previous Junior Ref Training Course.  You may have seen them out on the fields wearing orange jerseys on Saturdays reffing our U8 and U10 recreational  games.

FYI, the minimum age to be certified to become a USSF referee is 13. Official certification is required for any SSCL, ENCL, etc games.  However, individual organizations can determine the qualifications necessary to officiate recreational games. This course will not officially certify them for SCCL sanctioned games, but will allow them to referee our recreational games. Our goal is to provide our Junior Referees with the opportunity to get their feet wet and determine if they like refereeing, prior to going through the official certification process.

Refereeing is not only a way for our players to earn money, but it will also help our them gain a different perspective of the game. Rush Union’s staff and coaches will make sure this is a positive experience for anyone taking this course.
